Check My Resumé

Have you ever been faced with a challenging moment and thought to yourself, "there is no way out of this"?I'm sure we have all been there at one time or another, because we are all human. It is easy to pretend that we are superheroes, but at the end of the day, we all have moments of frustration where we need a bit of encouragement. With those moments in mind, I was inspired to create the Ultimate Resumé-- aka my gratitude jar. I use this jar to remind me,from time to time, of all of the amazing moments, opportunities, people, and situations that have worked in my favor over the course of the year.

It started off simply as an empty jar, but as moments of greatness came my way, I documented them, added them to my jar and watched it grow. Big or Small, didn't matter, every beautiful occurrence was deserving of being added to my gratitude jar. With roughly a month and a half left in 2016, and a pretty full gratitude jar, I am in awe of the many blessings this year has yielded me. In the past, I always knew, based on my memory, that good things were constantly flowing my way. But then, any time I would be presented with a situation of "defeat", it was as if I'd forget everything that had worked out for me in the past. With all of the tangible blessings in my jar, there's no longer any way to deny all of the goodness that is on my side.

Most important, my gratitude jar reminds me again and again that if ALL of the blessings in my jar already worked out for me, there is nothing that can stop any other situation I'm facing from working in my favor too! My "Resumé in a Jar" guarantees it! So, as we are in a month of thanksgiving, make sure you keep your eyes on the prize and stay focused on the things you are most grateful for. After all, what we focus on, we create more of-- it might as well be gratitude.

I title my slips of paper based upon what I'm grateful for( i.e 2nd chances, unexpected blessings, right on time, abundance)

P.S. Some people wait until the end of the year to go through their jars to revisit all that has positively happened to and for them during the last 365 days. If I'm having a down day, I will randomly grab one slip of paper from the jar for a bit of encouragement. Whatever works best for you, I say go for it!

Grateful,

-EEH
